So many exciting things this week!
New colourways in Merino Sock!
And the beautiful Merino-Silk 50/50 sock (this is the yarn I used for my first Color Affection last year!)
You should stop in soon because Indigodragonfly yarn never lasts long in this shop!
Also new as of this week, our Fall 2013 Class Schedule is now available!
Paper copies are available in-store, and the digital version is now in calendar-form online here: http://www.needlesinthehay.ca/classes.html
Coming up this weekend is the Peterborough Folk Festival!
I’ll be closing the shop a little early on Saturday afternoon to head over to Rotary Park to facilitate a knitting workshop, *very* beginner friendly and all ages welcome! The music line-up this year is *stellar*, I’m really excited to be a part of it and to have an excuse to check out some awesome bands! The full line-up is available on their facebook event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/197589897076426/
And then on Sunday, we’re having our End of Summer Celebration!
It’s easy to feel bummed at the end of summer – this is a chance to celebrate the things we’ve done this summer, an opportunity for our KAL-ers to show off their finished Rock Island, Que Sera, Color Affection, and Coral projects, and a time to remind ourselves that, hey! we’re knitters! we know how to face the cold seasons like pros. Let the winter-weather project dreaming begin!
On Sunday, the shop will be open from 12 to 6 (open an extra hour) – deals on summer yarns (cotton, hemp, linen, etc) will start at noon and carry on all day, but at 3 p.m. our temporary liquor license kicks in and you can shop, knit, chat, commiserate, or celebrate with a complimentary glass of white sangria or gin lemonade! And non-alcoholic beverages will be available to those who choose to abstain, of course.
I hope to see you all on Sunday, especially because it will be my last day before I close for my annual summer holiday! Needles in the Hay will be CLOSED from Monday, August 26th, to Monday, September 2nd, reopening with regular hours on Tuesday, September 3rd!
I’ll be spending some quality time with this little turkey (Moodie the cat), doing some home-renovation stuff, and helping my boyfriend, William, move in. Exciting times in the life of a yarn shop owner!
Enjoy the rest of summer while it lasts! There will be more blog posts, with fall yarn updates, to look forward to coming in September!
