Bray-lympic Success

Woohoo! Cast-on during the Opening Cermonies, finished the seaming during the men’s hockey gold medal game, and wove in my ends during the Closing Ceremonies. Seventeen days and PRESTO! New sweater!

Bray by Jared Flood features a lovely symmetrical cables-and-lace pattern on the front AND the back, with full-length reverse-stockinette sleeves which end in a saddle-shoulder, plus a rolled collar and tubular cast-on cuffs and hem (the pattern actually includes written instructions for the tubular cast-on, which made it so much easier to execute rather than having to look up a video every time I needed to cast-on a new piece).

This was knit in the Briggs and Little Heritage, in “Gold” – because it gets a slightly larger/looser gauge than the yarn that the pattern calls for, I knit the smallest size to get an approximate fit of the next size up, and in only five skeins! I think it worked out quite nicely (if I do say so myself!).

And just because it’s Friday, here’s some of the new yarns we’ve stocked this week!

Some beautiful spring-y colourways in the Cascade Ultra Pima, a 100% cotton in DK weight!

And this Malabrigo Sock in “Lettuce” on the right is the perfect springtime green (plus some very pretty “Archangel” on the left)!

Brand new colourways in Trekking XXL sock yarn!

And a restock of some new and classic colourways in the Zauberballs and Crazy Zauberballs!

Happy Weekend, Everyone!
